Jumpstart Your Morning

A busy job, lifestyle and home life make our lives so hard to really relax. If only we could enjoy the lazy Sunday morning wake-ups everyday! To be liberated from alarm clocks, ironing boards and, well – rushing to do everything before we go to work – is what we all dream about.

But here at MyFaceMyLife we believe every morning deserves to be enjoyed! We all deserve a great start to the day which will certainly pave the way for the rest of the day in positivity.

But don’t fret about having a sluggish yesterday – instead, always start afresh, or as Sidney Poitier famously said, “to simply wake up every morning a better person than when I went to bed.

Are you keen on some morning jumpstart tips? Here are some ideas we have found for you that will help your day start with that extra boost of energy.

1.  Wake Up Earlier and Sit In Silence

This may not pair well with the urgency of “jumpstart” and you might be thinking – how’s that better than an extra fifteen minutes of sleep? Well, see it as a way to ease your mind and body out of grogginess. Men’s Health suggests taking advantage of the early morning quiet to clear your head before the noise of your day begins. Some people say that experiencing silence as the dawn slowly breaks into sunrise is one of the best parts of getting up.

2.  Yup – Make Time For Breakfast

Coffee may slap you awake, but what you fuel your body with in the morning will determine how your brain performs in the next eight hours. Prevention magazine recommends foods that will keep your brain cells healthy such as berries, nuts, eggs and cereal (not your kid’s Captain Crunch, mind you). But if you really, really find it hard to put aside 30 minutes for a proper sit-down meal…

3.  Throw It All Into The Blender

Calling it a “smoothie” somehow takes the cringe off “liquid diet” and makes it hip, doesn’t it? (Octogenarians, take note.) Of course, we’re not suggesting you blend your eggs and bacon, but some fruit and vegetables, when combined, can really pack a potion into your body. Here are some combos we love: blueberries, strawberries and banana; green apple, orange and carrot; and mango, banana and avocado. Oh, and adding ice cream or sugar is downright cheating, by the way.

4.  Produce Your Own Morning Talk Show

You, starring as the host and the guest, because no one is watching, and no one else can listen to the thoughts in your head, no one will think you’re crazy. On a serious note, life coaches advise tapping into your inner voice and challenging it to be positive about the day. “Interview” yourself with questions that will remind you of your purpose in life. For instance: What are you most grateful for? What are you most passionate about? How can you learn and grow today? How can you contribute to others?

5.  Pick A Quote For The Day

If you find that your inner voice is just not up for self-coaching sessions, turn to the voice of someone else – no, we don’t mean blast the radio up loud. Try living your day themed by a quote you love! Plenty of websites list inspiring, amusing and funny quotes by legends, icons and celebrities. Pick one that tickles your mind and chant that for the rest of your day. Today, ours was –
